The Boys & Girls Clubs of America

My mother while pregnant with me would go to the San Leandro, California Boys Club for massage & swim classes. Shoot! I've been going to the Boys Club before I was even born!

As a kid between the ages of 7 thorough 9 years old I would daily walk from home down the street in the summers to catch a glimpse of my older cousin Fredrick playing basketball.

The Boys Club was an amazing place for me as sometimes we would have festivals in the parking lot with pie or hot dog eating contest.

The Boys Club was more than a socializing place; it was a feel good and positive experience for me every time. In our arts & craft room the small radio thankfully was broken, and stuck on a soft rock station. Need I say more?

Go figure early seventies rock featuring, Boston, Cream, Leo Slayer, Rufus & Chaka Chan, Fleetwood Mac, The Eagles and more everyday.

I am very proud of my long association with the Boys Club and have volunteered my time as a photography instructor for many years.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of America are a positive place for kids to develop and learn life skills with other kids around grown ups committed to their success.
